Who We Are

Africa 2000 Network was conceived in 1986 at the United Nations (UN) General Assembly Special Session on the critical economic situation in Africa. The programme was managed by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in 13 African countries to support community-based projects aimed at environmental protection and promotion of ecologically sustainable development for improved livelihoods. A2N-Uganda started in 1990 as a UNDP project and in January 2001 it was registered as an independent Ugandan Non Governmental Organisation (NGO)
